Consulting Engineer – Physical Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct client consultations by planning, designing, implementing, and supporting Physical Security Systems.

• Create and execute technical architecture and physical network designs.

• Evaluate existing Physical Security Systems and propose enhancements.

• Install, configure, and test video surveillance, access control, sensors, air quality control, and third-party integrations.

• Diagnose, maintain, upgrade, and resolve intricate hardware/software issues.

• Support Account Managers in sales by informing customers about Physical Security technologies.

• Identify and relay cross-selling opportunities to the sales team.

• Aid in project management by utilizing CDW’s methodology and lifecycle processes.

• Ensure reliable performance environments for enterprise computer applications.

• Participate in IT projects that enhance and upgrade converged network solutions.

• Act as the technical point of contact for customer engagements.

• Interact with customers’ technical and business personnel, including project sponsors and stakeholders.

• Develop and implement test plans for designated project components.

• Manage time and expenses in accordance with Statement of Work expectations.

• Deliver high-quality content using the appropriate document templates.

• Ensure solutions are executed as designed and approved by the customers.

• Collaborate with Professional Services Managers, Sellers, Project Managers, Partners, and customers regarding expectations and timelines.

• Conduct or lead design workshops for intricate designs.

• Proactively formulate plans and activities to prevent issues.

• Educate customers on solutions throughout the duration of the project or service life.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related technical field, along with 3 years of experience delivering complex technical solutions, OR 7 years of overall Information Technology experience including 3 years in delivering complex technical solutions.

• At least 2 years of consulting experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in infrastructure/network environments.

• Background in network engineering, network security practices, and designing, planning, and implementing LANs and WANs.

• Experience with Genetec or Milestone systems engineering.

• At least one year of experience in programming or analytical functions.

• Willingness to work weekends and/or off hours as required.

• Ability to travel between 25% to 50%.

• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients.

• Physically capable of lifting equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.

• Keen attention to detail regarding inventory and logistics.

• Axis Certified Professional Certification is a plus.

• Genetec Security Center Omnicast and Synergis Certificates are a plus.

• Milestone Certified Integration Technician Certificate is a plus.

• Experience with Meraki MV is a plus.

• Experience with Verkada is a plus.

• Experience in Video Surveillance System Implementation is a plus.

• Experience in Access Control System Implementation is a plus.

• Experience in Environmental Sensor Implementation is a plus.

• Experience in IoT Device Implementation is a plus.
