Information System Security Officer – DoD Secret Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct IT audits independently on intricate information systems, applications, and enclaves.

• Verify that appropriate controls are in place, properly executed, and that procedures adhere to Federal and DoD standards.

• Assess the necessary level of security.

• Execute procedures to safeguard information systems assets from intentional or accidental access or destruction.

• Engage in all phases of information systems auditing at the highest level.

• Offer technical support for vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, network security, and security implementation.

• Review customer systems and aid in implementing security enhancements.

• Carry out cybersecurity control validation exercises on both classified and unclassified networks, applications, and systems.

• Assess the efficacy of existing security measures.

• Balance business requirements against security considerations and analyze mitigations concerning security obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with DODI 8500.2 or NIST SP 800-53.

• Familiarity with the principles of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

• At least two (2) years of experience using eMASS.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for addressing security challenges.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.

• Competence in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word and PowerPoint.

• Strong skills in implementing and configuring networks and their components.

• Experience in balancing business needs with security considerations.

• Background in analyzing applied mitigations to determine their compliance with security requirements.

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
