Senior Cybersecurity Advisor – Security Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the generation services and technologies business to achieve or surpass quarterly and annual quota objectives in collaboration with the account and domain teams.

• Adhere to the Optiv Standardize Sales Operating Processes (SOPs) to ensure consistent success.

• Maintain an advanced understanding of the client’s security environment, business operations, security requirements, and risk tolerance.

• Identify security concerns and their connection to Optiv’s strategic solutions within the assigned domain and comprehensive cyber security programs.

• Recognize cross-sell and upsell opportunities among clients and Optiv's partner relationships.

• Qualify leads and collaborate with internal colleagues to ascertain scope, manage proposals, and ensure follow-through to closure.

• Engage in sales opportunities across Optiv's entire portfolio.

• Clearly communicate how the essential components of the Optiv technology and services portfolio address the specific needs of client stakeholders at a senior leadership level.

• Stay updated on industry trends and news while maintaining a broad understanding of the security landscape to provide thought leadership, support, analysis, and guidance to clients and internal Optiv teams.

• Collaborate with service delivery to ensure the team has the necessary supporting domain specialty materials that present a consistent and comprehensive approach.

• Work effectively with various client personas within the security leadership team, as well as other relevant personas, to develop security strategies and define roadmaps that align with business goals, budgetary allocations, and metrics based on return on investment.

• Maintain advisory relationships with key stakeholders at clients by facilitating thought leadership, support, information, and guidance in conjunction with sales partners.

• Cultivate strong working relationships with relevant Optiv technology partners based on client spending and Optiv focus.

• Drive comprehensive security programs to meet client objectives across technology and services, including initiating new discussions by leveraging peer and industry network contacts, performing requirements gathering analysis, and coordinating technology demonstrations and evaluations, driving cross-organizational solutions leveraging Optiv's portfolio.

• Interface and collaborate with internal Optiv teams, particularly service delivery liaisons, to align client expectations with the entire Optiv solution portfolio, ensuring service delivery excellence and client satisfaction.

• Identify new and emerging technologies for internal enablement and client exposure.

• Promote Optiv’s portfolio and security awareness at speaking events, partner events, and through social media channels.

• Establish a reputation as a trusted advisor with clients, partners, peers, and the cyber community, resulting in an influential network of contacts.

• Listen for client feedback and consistently share insights with internal teams to foster continuous improvement.

• Participate in account planning, forecasting, and pipeline management activities.

• Engage in managing and prioritizing the proposal process to create business proposals, contracts, and respond to RFI/RFPs.

• Actively pursue personal development by maintaining and acquiring technical capabilities, soft skills, and security-specific knowledge through formal education, certification, and other avenues. Employ advanced sales techniques such as making connections, facilitating meetings, reading the room, asking probing questions, overcoming objections, building trust, maintaining composure under pressure, positioning solutions, and assisting in finalizing sales.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

• At least eight (8) years in an information security role, ideally as a consulting advisor, architect, or engineer.

• Highly motivated self-starter who does not need daily management.

• Ability to thrive in a highly adaptable and agile team environment with responsive communication.

• Comprehensive understanding of the current threat landscape, vulnerabilities, and defensive measures.

• Strong business and technical acumen, with the ability to lead technology-focused discussions.

• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills for interactions with clients, including whiteboard sessions and other presentation formats.

• Keen attention to detail when reviewing statements of work (SOWs), quotes, and client deliverables.

• Continually maintains broad security knowledge and expands expertise in other domains across the portfolio.

• Vendor-specific certification(s) primarily focused on specialty areas.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% as required.
