This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Design, implement, and sustain formal credit training programs that encompass SBA, CORE, SSBCI, ACDBE, ACLP, NMTC, and additional lending products.
• Develop and maintain foundational, role-specific, and advanced credit training modules.
• Ensure version-controlled training materials are linked to loan policies, SOPs, regulations, and procedures.
• Monitor and report on the completion of credit training.
• Coordinate updates to training based on changes in policies, SOP revisions, quality control findings, and regulatory updates.
• Collaborate with the Training department on curriculum governance, instructional quality, and delivery standards.
• Create and maintain a credit competency matrix across various lending functions and products.
• Evaluate credit capabilities and pinpoint training deficiencies.
• Develop coverage plans and assist with succession planning for credit administration functions.
• Conduct product-specific credit assessments to identify gaps in processes, policies, and capabilities.
• Establish a feedback loop between Quality Control and Training.
• Suggest enhancements to underwriting consistency, eligibility evaluations, credit policy execution, and documentation quality.
• Document institutional credit knowledge, standards, best practices, CORE credit practices, and decision-making frameworks.
• Act as the designated successor for CORE credit administration responsibilities after completing the training program.
• Implement the strategic direction of lending operations to bolster service, loan growth, portfolio mix, product development, and quality.
• Collaborate with IT, Sales, Technology, Operations, Training, Fulfillment, Servicing, Quality Control, Compliance, and senior credit administration leadership.
• Ensure compliance of lending activities with federal and state regulations and company policies.
• Review and authorize large and complex loans prior to submission to the loan committee.
• Oversee new and renewed credit extensions for compliance with policy and regulations.
• Enforce and govern risk-rating and underwriting standards.
• Serve as the primary credit liaison to regulatory agencies, accountants, consultants, and others.
• Utilize loan data and business intelligence to enhance risk performance and guidelines.
• Identify potential problem credits and implement appropriate interventions to mitigate losses.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the financial industry, economic conditions, market dynamics, and rates.
• Perform additional duties to support the efficient operation of the department.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 7-10 years of experience in credit administration, underwriting, real estate loan underwriting, loan closing, problem asset management, and portfolio management within a financial environment.
• Strong expertise in SBA, conventional commercial lending, and credit policy interpretation.
• Proven track record in developing, implementing, or enhancing credit policies, procedures, standards, or training programs.
• At least 5 years of experience supervising staff.
• In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, loan structuring, eligibility criteria, and regulatory expectations.
• Ability to convert complex lending requirements into practical training content.
• Experience in identifying root causes of credit quality issues and executing corrective measures.
• Outstanding written communication, instructional design, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in computer operations, including Windows-based software, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
• Advanced financial analysis skills and comprehensive knowledge of commercial loan structuring and creative loan arrangements.
• Willingness to work outside of regular hours as needed.
• Capability to interpret complex credit and financial data and apply sound business judgment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
• Strong work ethic and professional integrity.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data and upholding a high level of ethics.
