Senior Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Manage complex, high-stakes litigation, including trucking and motor vehicle cases, premises liability, surgical and medical-related claims, and other intricate liability issues.

• Create persuasive case narratives.

• Independently conduct court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.

• Oversee comprehensive case management, including discovery and trial preparation.

• Collaborate closely with trial attorneys Holly Howanitz and Stefani Cogsdale on case strategies, motion practices, discovery processes, depositions, trial preparations, and trials.

• Maintain regular communication with clients.

• Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients.

• Provide guidance and leadership to junior attorneys.

• Work collaboratively with attorneys of varying experience levels.

• Take initiative in managing cases and progressing assignments independently.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid Florida Bar license is mandatory.

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution.

• Must hold a license in your state.

• At least 8 years of robust litigation experience, particularly in litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation.

• Capability to manage all aspects of case handling, including discovery and trial processes.

• Experience in insurance defense matters is preferred.

• Familiarity with time management systems.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Ability to think independently and take action with minimal oversight.

• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Professional appearance and demeanor are essential.

• Strong legal writing skills, substantial motion practice, and discovery expertise.

• Previous trial experience is highly regarded.

• Law Review participation or another proven record of exceptional legal research and writing is particularly appealing.
