This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Promotes the Ryder Continuous Improvement culture throughout the operation by actively utilizing continuous improvement methodologies.
• Identifies and facilitates change within the operation through data-driven Continuous Improvement (CI), Engineering, and Automation initiatives.
• Gathers data and conducts statistical analyses.
• Maps and documents existing processes.
• Proactively identifies process deficiencies; suggests and implements enhancements.
• Develops and oversees a comprehensive, effective, and timely continuous improvement strategy to deliver value to our customers.
• Leads process improvement initiatives to achieve measurable enhancements in key business metrics, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
• Manages and executes CI and steady-state engineering projects that result in improved business outcomes.
• Supports go-live and steady-state certification processes.
• Engages regularly with operations management and/or customers.
• Mentors employees in the application and implementation of CI and Lean methodologies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the Transportation or Supply Chain Industry.
• Necessary experience in Transportation (Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio at an expert level.
• Intermediate skills in data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and database programming (SQL, DAX, etc.).
• Basic functional experience in developing and managing: Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, Management Accountability Systems, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S/Workplace Organization.
• Intermediate understanding and experience in core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics, etc.).
• Familiarity with Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks.
• Knowledge of various equipment types, such as dry vans, temperature-controlled units, flatbeds, and other specialized equipment. Familiarity with Transportation Design Tools (e.g., JDA, Appian), Network Design Tools (e.g., Llamasoft/Optilogic), and Transportation Management Systems (e.g., JDA, OTM), as well as Mapping Software (e.g., Tableau/Power BI) at an intermediate level.
