Senior Consulting Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Project Engineering & Consulting (50%): Act as a key member of customer projects, concentrating on design, architecture, integration, implementation, and documentation. Responsibilities include research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, integration, development, and tooling.

• Consultative Support (50%): Deliver case-initiated consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects, aiding in implementation, onboarding, production launches, and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

• Provide assistance in architectural, technical, and migration tasks, involving hands-on activities.

• Function as part of the Support Team, managing L1 to L3 cases and communications when not actively engaged in customer projects.

• Collaborate closely with ClickHouse Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to influence the product roadmap and account strategies.

• Create and support a diverse array of content, including Public and Internal Documentation, Knowledge Base articles, ClickHouse Learning materials, Reference Architecture, blogs, and benchmark results.

• Aid in the recruitment and mentorship of new team members as we expand and scale.

• Be available for scheduling and on-call responsibilities to provide high-quality 24x7 support in a global, distributed environment, which may include up to 35% anticipated onsite regional travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management roles.

• More than 5 years of relevant industry experience in implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems ("DBMS").

• Comprehensive technical knowledge in areas such as DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, System or Network Administration, and big data.

• Proven experience in leading and delivering large-scale technical projects in collaboration with multiple seasoned engineers.

• Proficiency with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offerings (e.g., EC2).
