Senior Consultant – VMware Cloud Foundation Deployment Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deploy and set up management and workload domains for VMware Cloud Foundation.

• Engage in the development and integration of new and innovative technology solutions and partnerships.

• Take part in customer-facing meetings to ascertain business and technical requirements.

• Facilitate technical sessions focused on cutting-edge data center solutions.

• Organize training and sales sessions regarding data center technologies.

• Cultivate relationships with enterprise solution partners.

• Aid clients in their digital transformation through auditing, architecture, consulting, implementation, and training.

• Identify and validate opportunities for cloud solutions that integrate with existing systems.

• Evaluate cloud solutions for functionality, service availability, and performance metrics.

• Assess hybrid platform solutions to determine their suitability for the organization.

• Ensure technical feasibility for integration, data exchange, and migration processes.

• Assist project managers in planning, scheduling, and tracking project activities, milestones, and deliverables.

• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and resolve issues as they arise.

• Communicate project status, updates, and dependencies to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation and fundamental data center technologies.

• Advanced proficiency in designing and managing the VMware Cloud Foundation stack, including vSphere, VMware Automation, vSAN, and NSX/NSX-T.

• Familiarity with major virtualization platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V or KVM.

• Experience in virtualizing servers, storage, and networks; operations management; orchestration and automation; virtual desktop infrastructure; and cloud foundation.

• Ability to design and deliver architecture for software-defined infrastructure.

• Basic knowledge of containers and native cloud services.

• Proficient in infrastructure automation, Python or PowerShell scripting, and tools like Terraform or Ansible.

• Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.

• Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, customer service, sales, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Strong supervisory and leadership capabilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent consulting industry experience.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in architecting and implementing data center solutions, including at least 5 years in infrastructure consulting or relevant roles in compute, storage, software-defined infrastructure, server technology, or network engineering.

• Possession of at least one of the following: VMware Certified Professional, VCF, VCAP, VCDIX, or VMware Knight.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.

• Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
