• Oversee mine water management initiatives from initial planning to detailed design.
• Manage mine water balance models to facilitate comprehensive site-wide water balance evaluations and management strategies.
• Aid in the creation of water quality models.
• Lead the planning and design of mine water management infrastructure, emphasizing surface water systems such as channels, ponds, and pump sizing.
• Supervise the execution of climate, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses to assist in peak flow, flood control, and erosion mitigation assessments.
• Work alongside Okane’s multidisciplinary teams to aid in the development and execution of closure visioning and planning.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
• Possess a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certification in at least one Canadian province.
• Proven leadership and experience in water management within the mining sector.
• Experience in direct engagement with mining clients and regulators as a senior technical advisor.
• Experienced and skilled in multidisciplinary work and dynamic team settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, water infrastructure design, and water balance modeling.
• Proficient in water modeling software such as GoldSim, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and other pertinent numerical modeling tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
