Litigation Consultant, Auto

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage high-stakes cases involving severe injuries, intricate coverage situations, and legal inquiries or disputes; develop a strategic approach to achieve satisfactory case resolutions.

• Review and act on reports/forms; respond to inquiries; seek legal opinions for early resolutions; and communicate outcomes to relevant parties.

• Handle high-stakes cases with significant injuries and/or complex coverage matters.

• Respond to decisions, agreements, and/or court orders; create action plans; determine the need for examinations; and obtain client authorization.

• Identify cases suitable for settlements or redemptions.

• Collect and document additional information while coordinating with client representatives.

• Request legal or private investigations; assign cases and collaborate with local counsel; monitor the performance of local counsel.

• Address requests from plaintiff's counsel, unions, employees, or clients.

• Identify challenges and develop defense strategies.

• Establish or adjust accrued liabilities and approve administrative expenses.

• Recognize subrogation opportunities and oversee the process.

• Attend and participate in mediations, trials, arbitrations, or hearings as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in litigation, including five (5) years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Expertise in relevant insurance principles and laws applicable to the line of business, including recovery offsets and deductions, claim and disability duration, and cost containment principles such as medical management practices and Social Security and Medicare application procedures.

• Technically proficient and familiar with legal pleadings, discovery, and related processes.

• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Capability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
