Senior Consultant – Market Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Attend and engage in NYISO stakeholder meetings, and within days following each meeting, produce concise reports with analysis where relevant, covering key presentations, announcements, discussions, and other developments for both internal and external clients.

• Appropriately customize reporting and analysis based on clients' commercial interests (e.g., generation, transmission, load, trading) as well as financial, policy, legal, and technical viewpoints and considerations.

• Proactively identify and articulate issues in line with clients' commercial interests.

• Suggest suitable courses of action tailored to clients' commercial interests.

• Deliver real-time reporting and analysis on developments that have immediate and significant commercial implications for clients.

• Collaborate closely with clients and maintain an understanding of their interests by promptly addressing their inquiries and conducting regular conference calls (monthly, quarterly).

• Attract, engage, and assist clients through reports and analyses, as well as consulting projects related to existing and emerging Market Design(s) for NYISO and other regions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the energy industry is required.

• A relevant college degree is required; a graduate degree or advanced industry training is preferred.

• Experience and knowledge of wholesale energy markets, including resource and transmission planning, generation interconnection, resource adequacy, and market design, is required.

• Strong preference for candidates with NYISO and related ISO/RTO experience.

• Excellent writing skills are required.

• Experience in writing under tight deadlines is preferred.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential.

• Strong verbal and public presentation skills are preferred.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively is required.

• Business development orientation is preferred.
