Senior Consultant, Director of Sales

📋 Description

• Cultivate and sustain relationships aimed at strategic growth and development of opportunities.

• Oversee the expansion and upkeep of the Sales Team's strategic accounts, including active contract management and communication regarding current rate sheets.

• Collaborate with the Marketing team to design outreach marketing materials and strategies for participating in conferences.

• Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Sales Force) to track all leads, opportunities, prospects, and recorded customer engagements, sharing metrics, analysis, and insights with leadership to promote activity and enhance overall business health.

• Conduct sales and marketing calls to both prospective and existing clients, which may include office visits, lunch-and-learn sessions, and entertainment activities.

• Create and implement innovative sales and marketing strategies.

• Meet sales targets as specified by leadership while maintaining the required profit margins.

• Attend conferences, symposiums, trade shows, and industry meetings to promote the business's services.

• Assist in obtaining master service agreements (MSAs) and collection efforts as necessary.

• Identify and prospect strategic accounts within designated regions, qualify leads, and act as the primary point of contact between customers and the business's resources.

• Arrange sales appointments with prospects and clients, coordinate meetings, facilitate presentations and webinars, and accompany subject matter experts (SME) as required.

• Lead the strategy development processes for organic growth, bringing essential market and competitive knowledge to achieve growth.

• Facilitate and coordinate the production and delivery of quotes/proposals/RFPs to clients from initial contact through to purchase order.

• Engage in client relationship-building activities to enhance understanding of their needs.

• Contribute to the development and execution of the sales and business development plan.

• Provide support and oversight to the regional team.

• Review the team budget and expenditures, which may include approving expense reports and time entries for the team.

• May require working more than 40 hours a week, with occasional remote and/or in-person weekend travel, particularly when pursuing opportunities arising from natural disasters and emergency responses.

• Travel and be present in front of clients 50% of the time.

• Expand the sales pipeline by identifying and qualifying new business opportunities aligned with strategic priorities, leveraging the full capabilities of the company.

• Assist in developing strategies to enhance the quality and depth of market and competitor intelligence, influencing and increasing the probability of success.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS in Science or a related field.

• At least 10 years of experience in sales, client relationship management, and business development, preferably in technical/scientific services.

• Strong scientific background with the ability to comprehend and learn technical content.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Capable of listening attentively and solving problems effectively.

• Proven proficiency in creating and delivering presentations to clients, often consisting of industry experts.

• A dynamic, motivated, and results-driven thinker and problem-solver, willing to engage hands-on in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong sales management abilities, experienced in coaching, mentoring others, and being a valuable team player.

• A skilled planner who efficiently manages multiple tasks while maintaining a productive balance between acquiring new customers and servicing existing ones across diverse regions.

• Possesses strong computer skills in both Mac and Windows environments, along with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Familiarity with using Sales Force as a CRM.

• Willingness to travel for business, often independently, across the country, and manage personal arrangements for hotel, airfare, rental car, etc.

• Enjoys engaging with people, conversing, entertaining, and socializing.

• Skilled in managing expenses and utilizing company resources efficiently.

• Responsive and quick to engage in solutions, even after hours and on weekends.

• Capable of managing multiple communication streams, including email, phone conversations, Teams chat, group text threads, Slack, LinkedIn, and other social media engagements.
