Senior Consultant, Data Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee data governance initiatives from evaluation and the design of the Data Operating Model to organizational execution.

• Unite business functions, IT, and management to facilitate decisions regarding ownership, data quality, and access rights.

• Enforce governance regulations within the catalog, manage access permissions, and oversee the data product lifecycle on the platform.

• Identify individuals responsible for maintaining, reviewing, and approving business context and semantics (Context Layer Governance).

• Develop a new service offering where governance roles are temporarily filled with ongoing support provided by AI.

• Assist in proposals from solution design through to client presentations.

• Offer subject-matter expertise to consultants and disseminate knowledge throughout the team.

• Travel approximately 1–2 times monthly for client meetings and team gatherings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience (around 5 years or more) in data governance or data management initiatives, either in consulting or within a corporate environment.

• Familiarity with operating models, role concepts, and the data product lifecycle.

• Basic knowledge of at least one data platform, preferably SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP Datasphere) or Dremio.

• Comprehension of how governance is executed on data platforms.

• Confident demeanor when interacting with leaders from business units, IT, and management.

• Interest in regulatory requirements such as the EU AI Act.

• Business-fluent German (C1 level or above).

• Proficient in English.

• Preferred: experience in evaluating and prioritizing data or AI use cases or formulating business cases for them.
