This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the dbt Slack community.

• Collaborate with community leaders and internal stakeholders to enhance channel strategy, community guidelines, and engagement initiatives.

• Design and uphold moderation and support workflows, which include triage, escalation paths, response playbooks, and enforcement of the Code of Conduct.

• Mentor and assist moderators and community champions; recruit and onboard new moderators.

• Generate announcements, highlights, prompts, and content that tells the community's story.

• Gather community insights and member feedback to share with Product, Marketing, and Support, while ensuring feedback is communicated back to the community.

• Monitor and analyze engagement and health metrics, including growth, activation, retention, response times, and member sentiment.

• Conduct experiments aimed at enhancing community metrics.

• Manage the digital engagement toolset, encompassing Slack workflows, analytics, knowledge bases, integrations, and web portals.

• Organize and oversee incident responses in collaboration with Legal, People, and Security teams as necessary.

• Facilitate digital engagement across community forums, social media, and events to ensure a cohesive member experience.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital community management, online engagement, or community program management in a global or distributed setting.

• Proven experience managing daily operations for a large online community such as Slack, Discord, or forums.

• Familiarity with moderation practices, member support, and community health metrics.

• Strong grasp of online community dynamics.

• Experience in developing and refining moderation and support workflows, including enforcement of the Code of Conduct.

• Exceptional written communication and facilitation abilities.

• Capability to respond clearly and empathetically, de-escalate conflicts, and foster constructive conversations.

• Proficient in using community tools and analytics, such as Slack workflows, Common Room, or similar platforms.

• Data-driven decision-making skills, including defining engagement and health KPIs, assessing impact, and reporting results.

• Strong collaboration skills across functions including Product, Marketing, Support, and Developer Experience.

• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to communication differences across various regions and time zones.

• High emotional intelligence and comfort in managing conflict, ambiguity, and sensitive issues.

• Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple streams in a fast-paced environment.

• Bonus: Experience in scaling highly engaged Slack or Discord communities with measurable outcomes.
