This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Take the lead and provide support for coating and lining projects within nuclear plant systems, focusing on coating selection, qualification, performance assessment, and application for both nuclear and industrial settings.
• Spearhead or assist in the commercial grade dedication (CGD) of coatings and lining systems, which involves identifying critical characteristics, formulating dedication plans, evaluating suppliers, and ensuring adherence to the quality assurance requirements outlined in 10 CFR 50 Appendix B.
• Create detailed technical scopes of work, specifications, and inspection plans.
• Assess coating degradation, identify failure mechanisms, and devise life extension strategies.
• Support field operations, including oversight of contractors and quality assurance activities.
• Collaborate with clients to discern their needs and develop subsequent work opportunities.
• Aid in business development by spotting potential opportunities, crafting proposals, and interacting with clients.
• Work collaboratively within the organization to promote SI offerings, bundle services, and broaden the scope of projects.
• Establish standardized methodologies and best practices.
• Write and review technical reports, test plans, and deliverables for clients.
• Participate in client consulting, troubleshooting, and provide field application support.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 to 15+ years of experience in coatings, corrosion, linings, or asset integrity.
• Direct experience with commercial grade dedication (CGD) of materials or components.
• Familiarity with specification, inspection, assessment, or rehabilitation processes.
• Strong client-facing capabilities and communication skills.
• Ability to assist in business development initiatives.
• Exceptional communication and technical writing abilities.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15–30% to support client projects, testing, and business development efforts.
• Eligibility to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access Authorization (UAA) as required.
