Senior Cloud Software Engineer – Efficiency Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and construct a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.

• Develop a cloud-native platform on public cloud while automating the management of cloud resources.

• Implement infrastructure optimization strategies across compute, storage, and networking.

• Collaborate with ClickHouse engineering teams to create high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective SaaS platform solutions.

• Enhance cost efficiency by utilizing distributed systems and adhering to industry best practices.

• Work alongside business stakeholders to design and build tools that provide insights for cost efficiency.

• Design, deploy, and maintain the foundational ClickHouse Cloud data-plane infrastructure encompassing compute, networking, security, and multi-cloud/multi-region architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in the software development industry focused on building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.

• Proficiency in software development using Go, C/C++, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Background in developing cloud infrastructure services, ideally with Kubernetes.

• Experience in creating cloud-native edge or service mesh services, preferably using Envoy and Istio.

• Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale technical projects involving multiple experienced engineers.

• Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.

• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, encryption methods, access controls, as well as SOC 2 and GDPR compliance standards.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate within a global team.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and production debugging skills.
