Senior Cloud Software Engineer – Efficiency Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and construct a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.

• Develop a cloud-native platform on public cloud and automate the management of cloud resources.

• Implement infrastructure optimization strategies across compute, storage, and networking.

• Work in conjunction with ClickHouse engineering teams to create high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective SaaS platform solutions.

• Enhance cost efficiency using distributed systems and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to design and develop tools that provide insights into cost efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in the software development industry, focusing on building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.

• Proficiency in software development using Go, C/C++, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Experience in developing cloud infrastructure services; Kubernetes experience is preferred.

• Background in creating cloud-native edge or service mesh services; experience with Envoy and Istio is preferred.

• Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale technical projects alongside multiple seasoned engineers.

• Solid understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.

• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, encompassing encryption, access controls, SOC2, and GDPR compliance standards.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a global team.

• Excellent problem-solving and production debugging abilities.

• A keen interest in efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.

• Capability to excel in a fast-paced environment while partnering with the business.
