Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee AWS EKS clusters to ensure high availability and scalability.

• Utilize AWS ECS (Fargate) for serverless container management and orchestration.

• Establish, configure, and maintain message brokers including Amazon MQ, ActiveMQ, and RabbitMQ.

• Administer and enhance Amazon RDS SQL databases, focusing on performance optimization and high availability.

• Implement and refine Amazon Redshift for efficient data warehousing and analytical processes.

• Create and sustain infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.

• Design and set up monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Datadog to ensure AWS environment health, performance, and security.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and platform engineering teams to identify business requirements and suggest appropriate AWS services.

• Apply the AWS Well-Architected Framework to enhance operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability.

• Report directly to the Senior Director of Platform Architecture and cooperate with software, site reliability, security, and engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or a similar certification is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and managing AWS cloud services, with a focus on EKS, Fargate, MQ, RDS, and Redshift.

• Proficient in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation tools.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to troubleshoot intricate issues.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in both team and client-facing settings.

• Must be a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible for permanent work in the US.
