Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage extensive multi-cloud and hybrid infrastructure that is highly available.

• Deploy and operate containerized workloads utilizing managed Kubernetes services.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.

• Create and implement resilient CI/CD pipelines following GitLab CI/CD and GitOps principles.

• Implement and oversee core cloud services, including global content delivery, DNS, and object storage solutions.

• Establish operational visibility through metrics, dashboards, and alerts via Grafana and Prometheus.

• Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and ensure least-privilege access across cloud environments.

• Define and enforce cloud governance structures, Landing Zone designs, and Policy-as-Code standards.

• Manage hybrid network connectivity and troubleshoot complex networking challenges across cloud and on-premises environments.

• Collaborate with Security, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Platform teams to promote best practices in observability, compliance, and operational reliability.

• Support FinOps initiatives aimed at improving cloud cost efficiency, scalability, and performance.

• Participate in on-call rotation and occasional out-of-hours maintenance to guarantee continuous system availability.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure within large-scale environments.

• Demonstrated practical experience with highly available cloud environments in a multi-cloud context, with substantial hands-on expertise in at least two providers: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Strong comprehension of DevOps, Platform Engineering, and GitOps methodologies.

• Solid hands-on familiarity with managed Kubernetes orchestration, including AKS, EKS, or GKE.

• Experience in regulated sectors such as FinTech or banking, with an understanding of compliance, security, auditability, and governance requirements.

• Strong scripting or programming capabilities in Python, Bash, or similar languages.

• Proficient in creating and maintaining infrastructure using Terraform.

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably utilizing GitLab CI/CD.

• Practical experience in configuring metrics, dashboards, and alerts using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.

• Hands-on experience with IAM, RBAC frameworks, and implementing least-privilege security measures.

• Solid grasp of hybrid networking concepts including BGP, VPN, Direct Connect / ExpressRoute, and hybrid DNS resolution, along with network troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical delivery, and support production-grade environments.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with IaC PR-workflow automation and orchestration tools like Atlantis or Terragrunt.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with GitOps delivery tools such as Argo CD or Flux.

• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of CSPM tools like Wiz or similar.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.

• Nice-to-have: Understanding of FinOps practices and strategies for cloud cost optimization.

• Nice-to-have: Official certifications from AWS, Azure, GCP, or CNCF such as CKA or CKAD.
