Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Honduras.

📋 Description

• Oversee WWF's Azure environment, which includes managing subscriptions, provisioning resources, and deploying Windows, SQL, Red Hat, and firewall virtual machines in both production and staging environments.

• Set up Microsoft Entra tenants, configure Azure Enterprise Apps SSO, manage RBAC, and organize user groups.

• Proactively apply patches to systems and automate Azure management using PowerShell and Graph API.

• Develop backup strategies and create disaster recovery playbooks.

• Address networking issues across VNETs, sites, and tenants, which encompasses firewalls, load balancers, Azure DNS, and Cloudflare DNS.

• Act as the escalation expert for issues related to Azure, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.

• Manage projects from start to finish while communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Be available for occasional after-hours or weekend work in response to critical outages or planned maintenance.

• Support WWF-US and country offices across South America, Central America, Africa, and Asia to function securely and efficiently.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in IT or a related discipline, complemented by a minimum of 8 years of professional experience, including at least 6 years in the IT sector.

• Proficiency in both verbal and written English and Spanish.

• Experience in managing large-scale enterprise IT systems.

• Extensive practical experience with highly available and resilient Azure production systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, cloud networking, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, as well as Windows and Linux servers.

• Skilled in managing Windows domains and Active Directory.

• Expertise in utilizing PowerShell and Graph API for Azure management, workflow automation, and deployment orchestration.

• Familiarity with provisioning and managing access for Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Foundry.

• Experience integrating Microsoft Copilot for M365, including Copilot Studio and Copilot Agents, into enterprise Azure/M365 environments, along with configuration and governance of data access controls.

• Significant experience in building, deploying, and managing virtual machines within Azure.

• Proven ability to diagnose complex cloud or hybrid system issues and develop scalable, sustainable solutions.

• Expertise in infrastructure, Azure cloud architecture, identity and access management with Entra ID, and AI-driven automation technologies.

• Skills in configuring Microsoft Entra tenants and domains, including DNS and VNET setup.

• Willingness to work occasional after-hours or weekends for critical outages or planned maintenance.

• Must currently reside and be authorized to work in Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Suriname, or Guyana.
