Senior Clinical Data Analyst – Healthcare Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Identify opportunities for operational enhancements through healthcare analytics.

• Curate datasets from inpatient source tables and ensure alignment of documentation practices across various units and service lines.

• Construct, automate, and sustain data extracts, reports, dashboards, and self-service products.

• Collect requirements, perform data sourcing, cleaning, and conduct quality assurance on data outputs.

• Collaborate with Data Scientists on operational improvement initiatives and predictive models/applications.

• Act as a point of contact for supporting customer Operations teams.

• Convert inpatient clinical documentation into clearly defined, reproducible metrics.

• Validate metric logic against frontline workflows with nursing, service line, quality, and informatics stakeholders.

• Contribute to the establishment of shared standards for SQL, version control, and report development.

• Monitor production reports and pipelines for data quality issues, leading root-cause analysis and remediation efforts.

• Assist in performance improvement initiatives related to length of stay, throughput, capacity, care variation, documentation compliance, and quality measures.

• Prepare presentation materials for customers and support ongoing engagement with clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in clinical data analytics within a healthcare environment.

• One of the following: Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Data Science, Engineering, Business/Finance, or Health Sciences; Master’s degree in Public Health, Data Science, Business Administration, or Statistics; or equivalent work experience and a portfolio of projects.

• Familiarity with and ability to configure business intelligence tools, such as PowerBI and Business Objects.

• Proficient in SQL querying and data manipulation, including Stored Procedures and query optimization (Microsoft preferred).

• Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) analytics; proficiency in Epic Clarity and Caboodle is highly desired.

• Understanding of clinical documentation within EHR systems and ability to extract data based on workflow descriptions.

• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Strong communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

• Experience with source control, issue tracking, continuous integration, code reviews, and agile development (preferred).

• Familiarity with AWS technology stack (preferred).

• Knowledge or experience in healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, ICD, SNOMED, and LOINC (preferred).

• Experience with Delta Lake and/or Databricks (preferred).

• Familiarity with Apache Spark, PySpark, or Scala (preferred).

• Experience with Python (preferred).

• Knowledge of machine learning workflows and data requirements for ML frameworks (preferred).
