Senior Claims Specialist, Auto Material Damage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.

📋 Description

• Oversee a designated inventory of claims primarily associated with Personal Lines Auto, Garage Keepers Liability, and Commercial Auto Liability policies.

• Receive assignments for claims and assess the applicability of coverage.

• Determine the investigation methods and extent for each claim in accordance with company Best Practices.

• Review and manage pending files to ensure thoroughness and promptness in investigation, evaluation, and reserve setting.

• Maintain an up-to-date diary for each case.

• Evaluate and adjust claims within the limits of the adjuster's authority.

• Report technical issues directly to supervisors and management.

• Evaluate and manage auto material damage claims, including handling total loss situations.

• Decide the future handling approach and the appropriate method for disposition.

• Consult with the claims manager on cases that require assistance or exceed assigned authority.

• Assess recovery potential and gather necessary information to pursue recovery.

• Participate in quarterly reviews of claims.

• Adhere to claim handling requirements for special handling accounts.

• Adjust and manage assigned claims equitably and promptly through disposition, following Best Practices.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to agents, insured individuals, and others throughout the claims process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three years of experience in handling auto material damage claims.

• A valid Hawaii adjuster license is mandatory.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Capability to communicate effectively with employees at all organizational levels.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and authority levels in support of C&F’s risk management strategies.

• A college degree is preferred.

• Insurance designations or relevant coursework are advantageous.
