• Manage high-severity property claims from beginning to end – investigate, negotiate, and resolve intricate losses while supporting customers during critical times.
• Analyze and correctly interpret the insureds’ policies, active forms, and other documentation to ascertain coverage and the extent of the company’s liability and policy restrictions.
• Leverage knowledge of various state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Conduct desk reviews, draft, adjust, and approve damage and loss estimates for structural damages, mitigation, remediation, and more.
• Employ diverse investigative methods, including recording statements, consulting experts, identifying property damage, and reviewing relevant documentation.
• Maintain ongoing communication and collaborate with customers, their representatives, contractors, and experts throughout the claims process from initial notice of the claim to the completion of repairs.
• Collaborate with public adjusters and attorneys representing the insured(s), ensuring all notices and correspondence are handled in accordance with state regulations.
• Independently oversee a portfolio of high-severity large loss claims from start to finish, providing timely, well-documented coverage determinations and equitable settlements while ensuring compliance with state regulations and high file quality standards.
• Cultivate trusted relationships with insureds and external partners (public adjusters, attorneys, contractors), skillfully navigating complex or escalated claims to resolution while contributing to enhanced processes, reduced cycle times, and improved customer experiences.
• Over 5 years of experience in first-party residential property claims adjusting; prior experience in managing large losses is highly preferred.
• Your insurance experience includes direct work for an insurance carrier.
• Relevant knowledge of insurance laws and good faith claims handling practices across multiple states.
• Experience in handling pre-litigation claims (preferably involving Public Adjuster/Attorney representation).
• Data-driven with a strong analytical mindset; you enjoy utilizing new technology and diving into the numbers.
• Experience in vendor management and related negotiations.
• Proficient in using various claims-related systems and software (e.g., Verisk suite of products, ISO ClaimSearch, Google suite, Excel).
• Familiarity with residential construction (including but not limited to mitigation, restoration, roofing, and repair), damage identification techniques, and the order of construction operations.
• Advanced ability to document details and facts in writing regarding activities and communications throughout the claims process.
• Proven track record in customer service demonstrating quality and attention to detail while assisting policyholders during challenging situations.
