This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver timely, courteous, and high-quality customer service to all policyholders and claimants by effectively responding to customer calls, texts, and/or emails.
• Collect essential information from customers to initiate claims and provide clarity on policy coverage, as well as guide them through the claims process and next steps.
• Oversee a portfolio of claims, determine initial reserves for all potential exposures, and make adjustments as necessary throughout the claims lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the APD team in managing property damage claims.
• Identify recovery opportunities related to subrogation and salvage, as well as total loss scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with relevant state regulations, policy provisions, and established operating procedures.
• Negotiate fair settlements with claimants, insured parties, and attorneys within the bounds of approved payment authority.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of claims guidelines, best practices, and process enhancements.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of claims and ensure that external investigative service providers, including independent appraisers and defense attorneys, are directed according to our needs for efficient file resolution.
• Maintain communication with clients, providing updates as necessary.
• Participate in learning opportunities to enhance understanding of claims statutes, recent court decisions affecting claims, current internal guidelines, and any policy modifications.
• A bachelor's degree (candidates without one are encouraged to apply if they meet all other qualifications).
• An active insurance adjuster’s license from a designated home state or the home state itself.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience focused on commercial transportation (interstate trucking) claims adjusting, ideally including:
• Third-party bodily injury claims, especially catastrophic losses.
• Uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury claims.
• Experience in litigation.
• Familiarity with MCS90 and its state equivalents.
• Willingness to obtain all necessary licenses within 60 days, including completing state-mandated testing.
• Understanding of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures.
