Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Conducting design evaluations of civil and structural design elements to support bid and construction packages for substation projects.

• Leading projects in the capacity of a senior engineer.

• Mentoring and developing junior staff members.

• Performing site visits at client substation facilities.

• Occasional travel for client meetings and industry-related events.

• Ensuring adherence to quality control and safe work practices.

• Maintaining alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the utility industry.

• Strong educational foundation in the design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations.

• Experience in reviewing designs for substation structures, rigid bus systems, foundation designs, oil spill containment, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and firewalls.

• PE License required in PA, OH, WV, MD, NJ, or the ability to secure licensure in these states within 3 to 12 months.

• SE licensure is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software.

• Experience with RISA 3-D, STAAD.Pro, FAD, SAG10, and LPILE software.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.

• Strong analytical capabilities and technical writing skills.
