Senior Cinematic Facial Animator – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop high-quality facial animations for in-game cinematics utilizing FACS-based rigs, motion capture data, and hand-key methods.

• Integrate facial capture data into scene compositions and enhance facial performances through final implementation in the game engine.

• Work closely with Animation Directors and Lead Animators to create cinematic facial performances that align with the game's vision and cinematographic style.

• Assist in establishing and maintaining performance standards, coordinating with other departments for smooth cinematic engine integration.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to facial animation integration within the engine.

• Enhance character facial performances to produce realistic and captivating scenes.

• Engage in feedback sessions with the cinematic team, present your work, and incorporate constructive criticism.

• Utilize animation and camera principles to craft realistic and immersive cinematic experiences.

• Leverage Jira and Flow for tracking progress and managing workload efficiently.

• Communicate progress and potential challenges to the Animation Director and Project Management.

• Provide mentorship to junior artists.

• Undertake additional related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.

• Proficient knowledge of Maya is required.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is expected.

• Knowledge of Insomniac proprietary tools is preferred.

• Experience with MotionBuilder is a plus.

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere is a plus.

• Understanding of common state machine flow in any game engine is advantageous.

• Ability to perform calculations and apply basic algebra and geometry.

• Capability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions.

• Must satisfactorily perform all essential duties.

• This position is an 8-month temporary contract engagement through Yoh Enterprise Solutions.
