Senior Certification Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct third-party ISO/IATF 16949 audits across North America.

• Document and report findings and activities related to audits.

• Engage with clients at all management levels to produce timely, comprehensive, and precise compliance or management-system implementation reports.

• Evaluate client corrective actions and their closure.

• Maintain and enhance audit credentials.

• Execute certification audits in line with SGS global/local procedures and sector-specific standards.

• Assess whether registration should be recommended or continued based on audit evidence.

• Operate within the SGS Certification System for all audit activities.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Technical Accreditation teams concerning system design and implementation modifications.

• Supervise or manage auditor teams during audits as necessary.

• Work together with auditor teams throughout the auditing process.

• Provide clients with a comprehensive audit experience within SGS’s accredited certification activities.

• Support the training of Auditors and Senior Auditors.

• Take part in witness audits conducted by SGS or accreditation bodies.

• Maintain all credentials associated with auditing.

• Undertake other tasks as directed by Certification Audit or Technical Accreditation management.

• Comply with internal standards, policies, and procedures.

• Indirectly lead Auditors during auditing processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the industry.

• Qualified as a 3rd party IATF Lead Auditor.

• Current IATF Lead Auditor certification for ISO/IATF 16949.

• Possession of a 3-ADP#; 5-ADP preferred.

• Capable of walking and standing for up to 4 hours continuously.

• Able to navigate multiple levels of client sites using stairs or elevators.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Must be able to rent and operate a car and utilize public transportation when necessary.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Availability to travel up to 100% of the time, primarily for overnight stays across the U.S.

• Travel may involve international destinations, with flight durations exceeding 8 hours depending on the location.

• Weekend travel may be required.
