Senior Category Manager – Indirect Categories

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Create and implement both short-term and long-term strategies for the category.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gain insights into business objectives, demand, risk factors, and future requirements.

• Oversee comprehensive strategic sourcing, encompassing supplier assessments, RFx procedures, selection processes, and sourcing recommendations to executives.

• Negotiate commercial, financial, and contractual terms to optimize value while reducing business, operational, legal, privacy, and security risks.

• Work in partnership with Legal, Security, Privacy, Finance, HR, Tax, and Risk Management teams.

• Develop financial models and conduct quantitative analyses of supplier cost structures, market trends, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership.

• Identify opportunities for savings and formulate negotiation strategies.

• Promote supplier consolidation, demand management, contract standardization, preferred supplier initiatives, and governance frameworks.

• Manage supplier relationships utilizing performance scorecards, business reviews, governance meetings, and escalation processes.

• Prepare executive-ready presentations, business cases, category roadmaps, and sourcing recommendations for senior leadership.

• Utilize Microsoft Copilot, AI-driven tools, and analytics to enhance procurement efficiency, spend transparency, and reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management within large, intricate organizations.

• Proven experience in leading enterprise-level sourcing initiatives across Advertising & Marketing, Technology, and Benefits categories.

• Successful negotiation of complex commercial agreements covering agency, technology services, software, infrastructure, hardware, and SaaS environments.

• History of achieving measurable savings, cost avoidance, process enhancements, and risk mitigation results.

• Outstanding stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

• Strong financial, analytical, and quantitative modeling capabilities.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas, data modeling, pivot tables, executive reporting, and dashboards.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled tools.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.

• High attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Preferred: MBA or a related advanced business degree.

• Preferred: CPSM, CIPS, ISM, APICS, PMP, or similar certifications.

• Preferred: Experience with Oracle iProc or comparable Source-to-Pay platforms, as well as ServiceNow or intake/workflow management systems.

• Preferred: Background in supporting entertainment, media, technology, or global consumer-facing sectors.

• Preferred: Category expertise in Facilities Management, Physical Security/Safety, Outsourced Development (ODF), Localization, or QA.

• Preferred: Experience in procurement transformation, supplier consolidation, and operating model standardization.
