Principal Procurement Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee procurement operations for designated suppliers, which includes part setup, placing purchase orders, expediting, and executing delivery.

• Track and ensure the accuracy of ERP/MRP system data, such as lead times, supply periods, safety stock, and other procurement metrics.

• Develop and sustain supplier relationships while fostering enhancements in quality, cost, and delivery timelines.

• Engage in supplier negotiations, competitive bidding, and sourcing initiatives.

• Assess supplier performance, pinpoint risks and trends, and manage shortages, delays, and disruptions in supply.

• Collaborate with Planners and cross-functional teams to address critical shortages and enhance supplier delivery performance.

• Resolve discrepancies related to receiving, invoices, purchase orders, and suppliers.

• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with suppliers.

• Assist in production readiness reviews, DMP management, and purchasing tasks essential for maintaining production continuity.

• Compile procurement metrics, supplier performance reports, risk assessments, and presentations.

• Aid in audits, leadership reviews, and special projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• A University Degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant prior experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline.

• Proven professional or academic experience communicating in both English and Spanish (both verbal and written).

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Previous experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing setting.

• Familiarity with SAP, Agile, or other ERP/MRP software.

• Background in competitive bidding, supplier development, negotiations, and managing supplier performance.

• Understanding of Lean principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and root cause analysis.

• Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, FAR/DFAR regulations, and supplier compliance standards.
