Senior Category Manager, Fans and Coils

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute category strategies for Fans & Coils along with associated components.

• Classify suppliers into Tier 1–4 categories.

• Take ownership of performance metrics related to cost, lead time, quality, and supply resilience.

• Collaborate with Engineering and NPD Sourcing Managers on component selection for new product introductions (NPI).

• Discover alternative components and substitutions.

• Promote standardization of components across various product platforms.

• Identify and assess new OEMs and distributors.

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and inventory programs.

• Oversee supplier performance through Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and scorecards.

• Serve as the sourcing liaison for the designated categories.

• Standardize components and bills of materials (BOMs).

• Create initiatives and pipelines for cost reduction.

• Develop cost models and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations.

• Gather market intelligence to evaluate new entrants, technologies, and potential supply risks.

• Keep track of global supply constraints and lead-time patterns.

• Identify risks related to end-of-life (EOL) and last-time-buy (LTB) events.

• Implement second sourcing and strategies for risk mitigation.

• Maintain precise ERP and PLM master data.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory and customer requirements.

• Manage commercial agreements and reporting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in sourcing, category, or commodity management.

• Proven experience working alongside Engineering, Quality, and Project Management teams to achieve cross-functional project goals.

• Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen.

• Eager to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment, where agility and problem-solving are essential.

• Preferred (Not Required) direct experience in the Coils/Fans supply landscape.

• Experience in global sourcing.
