Senior Casualty Claims Specialist / Claims Technical Director - Alternative Markets

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conducts investigations and maintains claims, which involves reviewing and assessing coverage and/or liability along with tenders.

• Gathers and evaluates reports, policies, contracts, releases, statements, and other relevant documents during claims investigations.

• Works towards resolving claims files and participates in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as needed.

• Establishes reserves and negotiates settlements within designated limits.

• Submits recommendations to a supervisor for settlements that exceed personal authority.

• Communicates intricate information regarding coverage, decisions, outcomes, and negotiations to the relevant parties.

• Ensures that claim payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner.

• Ensures that claims handling adheres to applicable statutes, regulations, legal requirements, and company policies and procedures.

• Provides technical guidance to lower-level positions and other functional areas.

• May supervise staff performance, provide coaching, and take part in talent selection, development, and performance management decisions.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Field of Study: Liberal Arts, Business, or a related discipline.

• Typically requires 10 or more years of relevant experience.

• Experience with New York Labor claims is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in handling complex commercial general liability claims.

• Must possess an active adjuster’s license, preferably in TX or FL.

• Willingness to obtain a license if no active licenses are held.

• Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
