This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of the engine-integration framework.
• Manage our game engine SDKs, specifically Unreal and Unity.
• Dive deep into the framework's underlying mechanics.
• Oversee the hooking and cross-DLL processes.
• Make architectural decisions that have lasting impacts.
• Design SDKs, scripting, and reflection surfaces that developers genuinely want to utilize.
• Consider the teams working on the engine layer as your clients.
• Create documentation, examples, and small tools that facilitate self-service for the toolchain and SDK.
• Conduct insightful and constructive code reviews.
• Mentor fellow engineers on aspects of Windows and engine internals that are not readily available on Stack Overflow or addressed by Claude.
• Participate in roadmap planning with a focus on achieving results.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in C++, with a substantial portion spent working extensively within systems lacking source code—such as game engines, anti-cheat mechanisms, drivers, or other software where comprehending someone else's binary is crucial.
• Proficiency in reading binaries should be a fundamental skill, not just an occasional task.
• Extensive experience with Windows native systems: Win32/64, DLL lifecycles, function hooking (including vtable, pointer-slot, inline/detour), IPC, and process/thread management.
• Comfortable with concurrent programming.
• Familiarity with game engine internals—experience with Unreal, Unity, or both is preferred.
• Outcome-driven with a low-ego approach.
