This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Operations, Quality, and IT to discover, assess, and implement business system solutions that align with manufacturing goals and promote operational excellence.
• Act as a functional subject matter expert for Manufacturing Execution Systems, particularly Siemens Opcenter/Camstar.
• Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops and business process discovery sessions.
• Convert business needs into functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution designs.
• Evaluate end-to-end manufacturing processes and system interactions for opportunities in standardization, automation, scalability, compliance, and efficiency.
• Design and review MES configurations, workflows, data collection strategies, and system enhancements.
• Oversee medium- to large-scale manufacturing systems projects and enhancements.
• Coordinate efforts among business stakeholders, developers, validation teams, and IT partners.
• Identify potential business and system risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing and integration testing, including the formulation of test strategy, review of test cases, defect triage, execution coordination, and ensuring release readiness.
• Establish and advocate for best practices, standards, and governance processes related to business systems.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ideally Siemens Opcenter / Camstar, including familiarity with system modeling concepts.
• Proven ability to gather and document business requirements and convert them into functional system documentation.
• Experience in creating process maps, flowcharts, and basic system interaction diagrams.
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Experience supporting or working with low-code platforms, preferably Mendix, in an enterprise or manufacturing context.
• Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments such as medical device, biotech, or regulated manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 5–8 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 2–5 years of equivalent industry experience, or a PhD with 0–2 years of experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
