This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take charge of the execution of defence manufacturing and technology programmes in Europe, monitoring milestones, costs, schedules, risks, and delivery in accordance with contractual obligations.
• Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, commercial, and supply chain across US and European/UK operations.
• Supervise UK/European manufacturing partners and subcontractors to ensure compliance with AS9100, AQAP 2110, and contractual flow-down requirements.
• Create programme risk registers and implement mitigation strategies for supply chain bottlenecks, export licensing lead times, and technical delivery gaps.
• Oversee Salesforce as the system of record for EMEA leads, accounts, contacts, opportunities, and active programmes.
• Enhance operational visibility across business development, capture, proposals, and ongoing programme execution.
• Develop executive dashboards and reporting packages that reflect operational performance, milestones, project financial health, and revenue forecasts.
• Set up Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and establish weekly/monthly programme review operating rhythms.
• Collaborate with IT and legal teams regarding ITAR/EAR, AUKUS exemptions, GDPR, and local security mandates.
• Work with external legal counsel and risk teams on subcontractor agreements, indemnification, DEFCONs, and product liability insurance.
• Report to executive leadership and closely collaborate with the US parent company to facilitate European expansion.
• Over 7 years of experience in business operations, programme management, or commercial operations within the aerospace, defence, or government contracting sectors.
• Proven track record in managing complex technical projects or manufacturing programmes successfully.
• Strong grasp of UK/European defence procurement processes, including NATO, national ministries of defense, and tier-1 primes.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
• Practical experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/ERP systems.
• Understanding of ITAR/EAR, AUKUS, and GDPR regulations.
• Capability to obtain and maintain UK Security Check (SC) clearance or equivalent national security vetting.
• Outstanding stakeholder management abilities across distributed European teams and US executive leadership.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or APM certification is preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced, scaling business or in establishing local operations for a US parent company is preferred.
• Direct experience with UK Ministry of Defence DEFCONs and DE&S quality frameworks is preferred.
• Fluency in an additional European language besides English is preferred.
• Experience in managing intricate, three-way, or international subcontracting arrangements is preferred.
