Senior Business Manager, Account Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with commercial clients within pharmaceutical services and manufacturing operations.

• Act as the main point of contact between clients and internal teams to facilitate growth and deliver exceptional service.

• Lead client collaborations, manage intricate portfolios, and pinpoint opportunities for expansion.

• Supervise demand planning, forecasting, contract negotiations, and financial performance metrics.

• Serve as an internal advocate for clients, leading customer meetings, site visits, and business reviews.

• Ensure optimal service levels and effective exchange of planning and technical information between site departments and clients.

• Coordinate the resolution of significant client issues and implement corrective action plans as necessary.

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations for both clients and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

• Represent Business Management on teams focused on process improvement and capital projects.

• Collaborate with Sales to identify opportunities for product and service expansion.

• Conduct commercial assessments and analyze data utilizing Excel.

• Investigate market changes, risks, and opportunities to build demand models effectively.

• Confirm forecast alignment with contractual commitments and ensure accurate representation in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP).

• Assist with the preparation of annual commercial revenue budgets and operating plans.

• Support the negotiation of quotations, technology transfers, and manufacturing-supply agreements.

• Identify and renegotiate unfavorable business terms, updating existing Master Service Agreements (MSAs) as needed.

• Create extended service proposals using quotation tools.

• Implement client contract requirements, encompassing pricing, payment terms, contract stipulations, yield reconciliation, and related provisions.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required; a degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or a related field is preferred.

• PMP certification is advantageous.

• 5–8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry or a regulated manufacturing setting, ideally within a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO).

• Proven experience in managing commercial contracts and developing pricing strategies.

• Familiarity with S&OP and demand forecasting processes.

• Experience in managing complex client relationships and collaborating with internal stakeholders.

• Demonstrated success in business management, client relationship management, or comparable commercial roles.

• Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations and pharmaceutical manufacturing procedures.

• Advanced financial skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and business analytics.

• Exceptional negotiation and contract management abilities.

• Clear communication and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in business systems and the Microsoft Office suite.

• Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Ability to collaborate efficiently in a matrix organization.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.

• Proven ability to drive business growth and discern new opportunities.

• Capability to influence others to achieve agreements and commit to a course of action.

• Aptitude for identifying market opportunities for both new and existing clients and acting accordingly.
