Senior Business Intelligence, Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop the future landscape for BI and reporting, actively influencing the target state, architecture, technologies, and tools.

• Create a scalable data architecture and centralized data foundation, considering potential integration with the parent company’s data warehouse.

• Construct and refine data models and automated ETL/ELT processes to assimilate and prepare various data sources.

• Design modern reporting and BI solutions for management, controlling, and business units utilizing Power BI or alternative technologies.

• Establish internal BI capabilities and frameworks, coordinating and potentially managing development tasks assigned to external partners.

• Convert business requirements from controlling, finance, and other departments into sustainable technical solutions, collaborating with IT and management.

• Proactively build and provide technical leadership for the BI team, including task prioritization, standards development, and professional growth of BI staff.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Several years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, along with experience in data modeling, data warehouse concepts, and ETL/ELT processes.

• Familiarity with modern BI and reporting tools, preferably Power BI and DAX; knowledge of the Microsoft Azure environment is a plus.

• Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to design technical solutions holistically, in a scalable manner, and with future integrations in mind.

• A strong communicator with presence and assertiveness, demonstrating high personal responsibility, a solid business acumen, and a passion for functional responsibility, advocating your viewpoints, and mentoring other BI colleagues.
