Senior Business Central Functional Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee functional implementations from the discovery phase to go-live, which includes gathering requirements, designing solutions, configuring, testing, training, and deploying.

• Act as a reliable functional advisor for clients throughout the entire implementation process.

• Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops to capture business requirements and transform them into scalable Business Central solutions.

• Configure the standard functionalities of Business Central and work alongside technical teams and implementation partners.

• Engage in solution design discussions, product demonstrations, project scoping, and client presentations.

• Assist clients in navigating complex functional challenges and suggest practical, scalable solutions.

• Provide training for end users and administrators while creating comprehensive implementation documentation.

• Identify potential risks, resolve functional issues, and ensure stakeholder alignment to facilitate successful project outcomes.

• Collaborate with internal product, consulting, and customer-facing teams to enhance implementation methodologies.

• Recognize recurring customer needs and deliver actionable feedback to product teams.

• Recommend enhancements, process improvements, automation opportunities, and AI-driven strategies to enhance customer results.

• Contribute to best practices and bolster the capabilities of the wider consulting team.

• Serve as a senior functional resource for both customers and internal teams.

• Impact consulting methodologies and implementation best practices.

• Lead complex and strategic engagements with customers.

• Work with leadership to elevate delivery quality and operational efficiency.

• Integrate AI, automation, and contemporary consulting practices into implementation workflows.

• Play a role in the growth and development of the professional services organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in functional consulting with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

• Demonstrated expertise in leading Business Central implementations from the discovery phase to deployment.

• In-depth knowledge of Business Central modules including Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Jobs/Projects, and Fixed Assets.

• Significant experience in requirements gathering, solution design, functional configuration, and user acceptance testing.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills in customer-facing roles.

• Experience in facilitating workshops and advising both business and executive stakeholders.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with implementation partners, developers, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Strong consultative mindset that balances customer needs with scalable solution design.

• Proven problem-solving skills and accountability for complex customer engagements.

• Interest in AI, automation, and process enhancement, with a knack for identifying opportunities for modern tools in consulting workflows.

• Willingness to travel approximately 20–25% for customer meetings, strategic implementations, workshops, and critical project milestones.

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification is advantageous.

• Experience with ISV or industry-specific Business Central solutions is a plus.
