This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Perform thorough due diligence on mining assets and companies, incorporating geological, technical, and commercial evaluations.
• Develop and sustain financial models (DCF, NAV, comparable transactions and companies) for mining projects and corporate dealings.
• Review mineral resource and reserve statements (JORC, NI 43-101, or similar) and analyze their commercial implications.
• Assess mining project economics, including capex/opex profiles, production timelines, commodity price projections, and risk factors.
• Create investment memoranda, pitch books, valuation summaries, and presentations for board meetings.
• Track commodity markets, mining sector trends, M&A activities, and the competitive environment.
• Assist in deal execution by coordinating with technical consultants, legal teams, and counterparties.
• Evaluate geopolitical, permitting, environmental, and ESG risks that impact mining investments.
• Design and assess alternative and structured financing options for mining operations, including metal prepays, royalties, streaming agreements, offtake and marketing arrangements, and debt/equity hybrids, while evaluating their effects on project economics and counterparty risk.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Earth Sciences.
• Over 5 years of pertinent experience in mining, investment banking, corporate finance, equity research, or technical/financial advisory within the resources sector.
• Experience with M&A transactions, project finance, or asset valuation in mining is highly advantageous.
• Formal business education or training is a plus (MBA, finance/business degree, CFA progress, or equivalent practical commercial experience).
• Proven understanding of mineral resource classification codes (JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC, or similar).
• Practical knowledge of structured financing instruments utilized in the mining sector, including prepays, royalties, streams, and offtake agreements.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities.
• Ability to convert technical geological data into commercial and financial insights.
• Advanced Excel proficiency; familiarity with mining technical software (e.g., resource and mine-planning tools) is a bonus.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, including the preparation of reports and presentations.
• Capability to manage multiple workstreams while meeting tight deadlines.
