Senior Business Analyst / Functional Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Organize and facilitate workshops with stakeholders to collect, validate, and prioritize business requirements while ensuring alignment among all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle;

• Analyze business requirements, including both functional and non-functional needs;

• Provide high-level (Level 2) support to end users by addressing submitted tickets;

• Draft use cases and assist in executing user acceptance testing to confirm that the developed system meets the business requirements and adheres to the agreed specifications;

• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams;

• Work collaboratively with UX/UI designers to create wireframes and prototypes that align with business needs, ensuring that the user interface and experience are optimized for end-users and facilitating effective communication between technical teams and stakeholders;

• Gather, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to support informed decision-making and recommend actionable strategies for optimizing processes;

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of training sessions for both end users and new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in IT or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the IT sector;

• Extensive experience in requirements gathering, analysis, validation, and documentation;

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and model business processes using standard modeling methodologies (such as BPMN and UML);

• Experience in conducting gap analysis, impact analysis, feasibility studies, SWOT analysis, and root-cause analysis;

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies;

• Practical experience with Agile project management and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence;

• Proficient in drafting use cases, user stories, workflows, and functional specifications;

• Capable of performing functional troubleshooting and providing Level 2 business/application support;

• Experience in supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT);

• Knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tools for web applications;

• Excellent command of the English language.
