Senior Business Analyst – Data Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of testing activities from the initial planning stage through to defect resolution and release validation.

• Develop technical expertise in SQL, databases, ETL processes, APIs, and cloud applications.

• Enhance automated testing, data profiling, traceability, and quality assurance practices.

• Provide support for healthcare systems where precise, secure, and reliable data is crucial.

• Review both business and technical requirements, translating them into clear test conditions, acceptance criteria, and validation strategies.

• Assist in requirement development through discussions with stakeholders, crafting user stories, process analysis, and refining the backlog.

• Create, execute, and sustain automated and manual tests using established tools and frameworks.

• Formulate test plans and test cases for healthcare data, applications, reports, APIs, and user interfaces.

• Validate data ingestion and ETL processes by comparing source data, transformation rules, and target outputs.

• Construct SQL queries and joins to assess data quality, verify business rules, and uncover missing, duplicate, inconsistent, or unexpected records.

• Conduct functional, system, integration, regression, component, and performance testing.

• Ensure traceability between requirements, test coverage, defects, and delivery outcomes.

• Facilitate user-acceptance testing, defect triage, root-cause analysis, and their resolution.

• Collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, and subject-matter experts to resolve intricate application and data issues.

• Document test results, risks, defects, and recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Contribute to the enhancement of testing tools, methodologies, and automation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, engineering, or a related field—or equivalent relevant experience.

• Five or more years of experience in software testing, data-quality assurance, business analysis, or requirements validation within complex systems environments.

• Proven ability to create, execute, and maintain both automated and manual tests.

• Experience in developing test plans, test cases, test scripts, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Proficient in SQL data-validation queries, joins, and relational databases.

• Knowledge of ETL, data integration, and source-to-target validation processes.

• Familiar with testing applications, reports, APIs, user interfaces, and data services.

• Understanding of Agile methodologies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iterative development.

• Strong analytical, written communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
