Senior Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist a DoD client in establishing an enterprise IT service delivery framework.

• Contribute to the enhancement of capabilities and services for an enterprise ITSM solution.

• Create software applications within an Agile/Scrum setting.

• Act as the main point of contact for gathering, analyzing, and managing both functional and non-functional system requirements as well as user stories.

• Break down mission and business goals into system requirements and product backlog items.

• Spearhead process re-engineering and automation efforts.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ascertain business needs and requirements.

• Convey business needs to development teams through user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Partner with the Scrum Master to create release and sprint backlogs, address impediments, and offer scope input.

• Work alongside internal and external stakeholders, as well as the product development team.

• Evaluate the development team's work to ensure compliance with the required scope.

• Lead product presentations and communicate iteration results to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

• At least 12 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field may substitute for 5 years of relevant experience.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a business analyst on iterative software development projects.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in developing business processes, capability needs, business requirements, and business information models.

• Ability to convert business requirements into user stories, use cases, and technical requirements.

• Experience in the functional decomposition of extensive business needs into multiple layers of requirements/user stories.

• Proven experience conducting stakeholder interviews.

• Capability to analyze business processes and workflows, pinpoint inefficiencies, and suggest enhancements.

• Experience in analyzing data and its relationships across various business sectors.

• Familiarity with the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, configuration management, quality assurance, and release management.

• Ability to comprehend customers’ daily operational needs and recommend process enhancements.

• Experience with estimation techniques and capacity planning.

• Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies.

• Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.

• Ability to adapt and work effectively with a technically diverse team.

• Eagerness to learn and keep up with industry trends.

• Desired: Background in software development.

• Desired: Experience in creating process guides.

• Desired: Certification as a Certified Business Analysis Professional.

• Desired: Agile or Scrum Master Certification.

• Desired: Product Owner Certification.
