This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Oversee comprehensive bookkeeping for various Australian client files, including reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and Balance Sheets.
• Create month-end and year-end workpapers, journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other necessary adjustments.
• Prepare accounts and supporting schedules for accountant review, annual tax returns, and financial statements.
• Calculate and review BAS and IAS, ensuring accurate application of Australian GST regulations.
• Process and evaluate Australian payroll, covering PAYG withholding, superannuation, leave, and employee benefits.
• Generate management accounts, monthly reporting packages, variance analyses, and additional financial reports.
• Investigate discrepancies, aged balances, and reconciliation challenges, providing recommendations for resolution.
• Reconcile accounting records with inventory, e-commerce, POS, and other operational systems.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and transactional processing.
• Review the work of team members to identify errors, process deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Liaise with the Australian team about outstanding information, risks, issues, and suggested actions.
• At least 5 years of senior-level bookkeeping, accounting, or management accounting experience supporting Australian businesses.
• Strong practical understanding of Australian bookkeeping and accounting standards.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements, month-end accounting, and advanced reconciliations.
• Experience in preparing workpapers and accounting files for year-end and tax assessments.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, and IAS regulations.
• Proficient in Australian payroll requirements, including PAYG withholding, superannuation, and employee entitlements.
• Extensive experience with Xero or QuickBooks Online.
• Proficient Excel skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of client files and deliverables.
• Tech-savvy and confident in learning new systems, workflows, automation, and AI tools.
• Excellent and professional communication skills.
• Experience with inventory accounting systems such as Cin7 or similar.
• Familiarity with e-commerce bookkeeping and platforms like Shopify and A2X.
• Background in reconciling accounting systems with inventory, POS, payment, or e-commerce platforms.
• Experience in management accounting and reporting.
• Background in Australian not-for-profit bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• Experience with payroll/workforce systems such as Tanda, Deputy, or Employment Hero.
• Familiarity with accounts payable automation or receipt capture tools like Dext or Lightyear.
• Experience with reporting, dashboarding, workflow, or practice management systems.
• Prior experience reviewing the work of junior bookkeeping staff.
• Previous experience in an Australian accounting or bookkeeping practice.
• Must disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work.
