Senior Bookkeeper

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for daily bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities.

• Update and maintain precise financial records.

• Oversee bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online.

• Reconcile credit card and other financial accounts.

• Review transactions and spot discrepancies.

• Ensure that Shopify transactions are accurately recorded in the financial records.

• Support inventory-related bookkeeping and reconciliation efforts.

• Monitor financial records and accurately categorize transactions.

• Aid in sales tax calculations, filings, and remittances where applicable.

• Prepare precise financial data ahead of tax deadlines.

• Proactively identify bookkeeping challenges and suggest solutions.

• Keep documentation and financial records well-organized.

• Work independently and resolve inquiries or issues prior to escalation.

• Clearly communicate financial information and highlight items that need attention.

• Capable of explaining accounting and bookkeeping concepts in simple English.

• Comfortable with posing relevant questions and clarifying ambiguous topics.

• High proficiency in QuickBooks Online.

• Strong familiarity with Shopify.

• Experience in bookkeeping and account reconciliation.

• Proficient in credit card reconciliation.

• Background in inventory accounting and bookkeeping.

• Knowledge of sales tax processes.

• Understanding of general accounting principles.

• Ability to take ownership of the bookkeeping tasks without constant oversight.

• Dependable, serious-minded, reliable, and dedicated.

• Consistent focus during agreed working hours; not managing multiple full-time jobs or commitments.

• Several years of professional experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

• Proven experience managing financial records for a US or other Western company.

• Strong bookkeeping experience with Shopify, including tools like Link My Books.

• Experience in reconciliations and categorization of transactions.

• Experience in inventory-related bookkeeping.

• Knowledge of US sales tax is a significant advantage.

• Accounting or bookkeeping credentials or certifications are beneficial.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently.

• Proven history of reliability and ownership.

• Daytime availability during Philippine Time (PHT).
