Senior Body Design and Release Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Engineer, design, develop, validate, schedule, and release body components and systems for production.

• Oversee the design, development, validation, timing, and production release of Vision Lighting components at both the component and system levels.

• Review, validate, and authorize automotive body component designs for release.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure precise design and development of body systems.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of design and release processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in reviewing, validating, and releasing designs for automotive body components.

• Valuable experience or advanced knowledge of automotive cameras and/or lighting systems.

• Proficient understanding of the vehicle's metal shell or frame, battery trays, upper body, underbody, seals, metallic floor, roof, pillars, and panels.

• Familiarity with Steel and Aluminium materials is essential.

• Experienced or knowledgeable in welding, riveting, clinching, bonding, laser brazing, and painting processes.

• Proficient in CATIA V5/3DX or NX for reviewing 3D/2D models.

• Experience with PLM (Teamcenter) for documentation and release management.

• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.

• Management of PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R, and technical sheets.

• Advanced proficiency in English for technical understanding and communication within an international team.

• Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.

• Knowledge of style freeze processes and theme evaluation is preferred.

• In-plant experience, including tool tryouts, assembly, and program launches.

• Knowledge of automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949.
