Senior BIM Manager, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Manage the digital delivery for AECOM’s hyperscale data center portfolio.

• Implement and uphold project-specific BIM standards, execution strategies, and coordination workflows.

• Supervise U.S. BIM personnel and global enterprise capabilities partners to ensure adherence to standards, scope, quality, and timelines.

• Create and sustain BIM Execution Plans, naming conventions, QA/QC checklists, and structures for the Common Data Environment.

• Administer project Common Data Environments (CDEs), such as Autodesk Forma or ProjectWise, along with permissions, metadata, workflows, archival processes, and integrations.

• Facilitate BIM kickoff meetings with internal teams, partners, consultants, and clients.

• Conduct quality assurance reviews, model inspections, clash detection and coordination reviews, audits, issue triage, and model health assessments.

• Generate, rectify, and finalize Revit model content across various disciplines when deliverables are delayed or subpar.

• Establish and manage multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection, remediation tracking, and integration of contractor/consultant model submissions.

• Provide monthly reports on BIM KPIs, compliance metrics, and deliverable statuses to the Senior BIM Manager Lead and project management.

• Develop and implement an automation roadmap utilizing Dynamo and Revit API scripts.

• Assist with 3D/2D deliverables, smart-object content, templates, asset information management, and digital handover processes.

• Offer BIM scope and resource assessments, as well as training, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and lessons learned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree plus 8 years, or a High School Diploma plus 10 years, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.

• Relevant experience in BIM/digital delivery is essential.

• At least 2 years of direct experience in leading or coordinating multidisciplinary BIM efforts.

• Over 8 years of experience in BIM environments is preferred.

• Experience in establishing and enforcing standards while overseeing multidisciplinary teams is preferred.

• Strong preference for candidates with data center or mission-critical experience.

• Proven experience in coordinating, supervising, and performing quality assurance on offshore or enterprise-capabilities teams.

• Strong practical skills in Revit across disciplines are required.

• Extensive experience with Forma, Revit, Navisworks, and Civil 3D is a must.

• Familiarity with SharePoint, ProjectWise, and project planning tools is desirable.

• Demonstrated ability in Dynamo, Revit API, scripting, and making quantifiable process improvements.

• Strong understanding of NBIMs, NCIS, AIA, BIMForum, and ISO 19650 standards.

• Experience with BIM Execution Plan (BEP) authoring, QA/QC frameworks, and model lifecycle management.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and training skills are essential.

• Strong time management skills and capability to foster accountability among distributed teams.

• Interest or experience in incorporating Artificial Intelligence into BIM and digital-delivery processes.

• Attendance at in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office is required.
