Senior BI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure the quality of data, oversee reporting data pipelines, and uphold business logic.

• Address discrepancies across various data sources.

• Analyze KPI variations and determine their underlying causes.

• Develop comprehensive analyses and actionable recommendations.

• Guarantee the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the BI infrastructure.

• Conduct in-depth analytics for ad-hoc requests from stakeholders.

• Create and sustain dashboards, reports, and visualizations regarding MyFitnessPal users.

• Design data models and contribute to the architecture of the reporting curated-zone.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering to manage projects that enable data accessibility for BI.

• Assist marketing, product analytics, and core business operations.

• Act as a subject matter expert on MyFitnessPal KPI reporting and facilitate self-service Tableau analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in a BI Engineering or Analytics Engineering position; relevant technology industry experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering will also be considered.

• Proficiency in SQL at an advanced to expert level.

• Skilled in Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

• Familiarity with Python or R for analytics purposes.

• Experience in constructing data warehouses and modeling data via ETL pipelines, such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

• Background in project management and maintaining cross-functional stakeholder relationships.

• Capacity to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• A curious, data-driven mindset for examining KPI shifts.

• MS in a relevant technology field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.

• Preferred: experience in developing AI-ready data models and semantic layers, including knowledge of data cataloging tools like Secoda.

• Preferred: experience in consumer-facing subscription, direct-to-consumer mobile, or web product environments.

• Understanding of user acquisition, retention, and engagement metrics for consumer products.
