This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +6 more states.
β’ Oversee all employee benefit programs, encompassing medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefits.
β’ Manage daily benefits operations, including enrollment processing, life event modifications, terminations, payroll deductions, and ongoing operational support.
β’ Administer Canadian employee benefits programs in alignment with local regulations.
β’ Maintain precise and organized benefits records while ensuring data integrity across all HR systems.
β’ Act as the primary point of contact for all inquiries and concerns regarding employee benefits.
β’ Provide clear guidance on benefits eligibility, enrollment options, plan specifics, and qualifying life events.
β’ Conduct benefits orientations and enrollment meetings for new hires and during the annual open enrollment period.
β’ Prepare and distribute detailed benefits communications, plan summaries, quick reference guides, and enrollment materials.
β’ Address benefits issues and disputes promptly and professionally.
β’ Function as the main liaison between Macmillan Learning and all benefits carriers, vendors, and third-party administrators.
β’ Facilitate communication and coordination between our internal shared services team and external benefits partners.
β’ Serve as the primary daily contact for benefits carriers, brokers, vendors, and third-party administrators, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective operational collaboration.
β’ Coordinate with vendors on billing, eligibility inquiries, claims processing, and plan updates.
β’ Direct employees and managers to appropriate third-party administrators for FMLA, disability, and other leaves of absence.
β’ Track and maintain organized records of all leave requests and accommodations to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
β’ Provide guidance and coordinate accommodations for employees with disabilities, ensuring adherence to the ADA and relevant laws.
β’ Manage the return-to-work process for employees on leave, including communication with both employees and managers.
β’ Stay informed about federal and state leave and accommodation laws (FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation) to ensure company compliance.
β’ Bachelor's Degree.
β’ 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, particularly in leaves of absence and accommodations.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of federal and state benefits-related laws, including FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, COBRA, and ERISA.
β’ Proven ability to independently manage complex benefits programs while delivering outstanding employee support and ensuring regulatory compliance.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of assisting employees at all levels, including managers and external partners.
β’ Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
