This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +2 more countries.
• Collaborate with GitLab's global benefits broker and local vendors to spearhead plan renewals, manage daily plan operations, handle escalations, implement changes, and foster continuous improvement.
• Oversee the comprehensive implementation of new and enhanced benefits programs, from developing business cases and selecting vendors to configuration, testing, launch communications, and post-launch enhancements.
• Administer daily operations for designated global benefits programs, which include managing eligibility, enrollment, billing, quality assurance, and issue resolution; monitor and enhance enrollment accuracy, billing reconciliation, and issue-resolution times.
• Work in conjunction with Payroll, Finance, People Operations, and People Technology to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Coordinate benefits operations across various countries and employment models, including PEO, EOR, and GitLab entity arrangements; collaborate with local vendors, brokers, and internal partners to resolve complex issues and apply applicable local regulations.
• Act as a point of contact for intricate benefits inquiries, partnering with HelpLab and People Operations to triage and resolve cases while leveraging insights to enhance plan and process design.
• Evaluate benefits utilization, costs, survey, and qualitative data to identify trends, assess plan competitiveness, and create recommendations and business cases that enhance program outcomes.
• Streamline, standardize, and automate benefits processes while prioritizing the team member experience.
• Demonstrated success in managing global benefits programs, including collaboration with international brokers and local vendors.
• Comprehensive understanding of core benefits concepts such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental benefits, along with experience in multi-country settings, which includes working with PEO and EOR providers and local brokers.
• Proven experience in supporting benefits during country expansions and transitions.
• Proficient in using human resources information systems and benefits administration tools, with meticulous attention to detail in billing reconciliation, data entry, process testing, and quality assurance.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience utilizing benefits utilization, cost, and survey data, as well as spreadsheets with lookup formulas and pivot tables to derive insights and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex benefits topics in accessible terms, conveying decisions with patience and sound judgment, and collaborating with Payroll, Finance, Legal, People Operations, People Business Partners, and works council representatives.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fully remote environment, leverage software tools and automation to enhance processes, work with Git and GitLab whenever applicable, and align with GitLab's values.
• A keen interest in artificial intelligence tools and an eagerness to utilize them to improve benefits work and team processes; experience with Workday is highly preferred.
