This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Create and develop systems for the storage and management of clinical data, which includes treatment plans, progress notes, patient histories, and AI-driven clinical intelligence.
• Construct and enhance insurance billing systems that estimate and process claims for major insurance providers.
• Design backend services for tailored care recommendations, health monitoring, longitudinal data representations, and therapist discovery experiences.
• Develop ledger systems that guarantee accurate payments to over 70,000 providers, ensuring idempotency and strict consistency.
• Identify solutions for ambiguous challenges and deliver production-level software.
• Make technical choices that are optimized for maintainability and scalability.
• Enhance engineering efficiency through the use of tooling, automation, and reusable patterns.
• Guide engineers through design discussions and code evaluations.
• Collaborate with various teams and communicate via Slack, design documents, and meetings.
• Utilize AI and LLMs for code generation, operational automation, and developer tools in a responsible manner within healthcare.
• Engage in live coding sessions, technical interviews, and non-technical interviews as part of the recruitment process.
• Proven experience in transforming ambiguous problems into deployable software solutions.
• Capability to define solutions, engage the appropriate cross-functional partners, and adjust to shifting priorities.
• Technical decision-making that emphasizes maintainability and scalability.
• Ability to enhance engineering velocity through tooling, automation, and established engineering patterns.
• Experience in mentoring engineers during design discussions and code reviews.
• Skill in delivering functional solutions rapidly and iterating based on user feedback.
• Quick learner of complex healthcare domains, including payer rules, regulations, and exceptions.
• Strong communication skills in Slack threads, design documents, and cross-team meetings.
• Background in experimenting with LLMs for code generation, operational automation, or developer tools.
• A builder's mindset regarding responsible AI automation in healthcare.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Postgres, Redis, Snowflake, AWS, Temporal, Datadog, Sentry, or PagerDuty.
