Senior Backend Engineer – Temporary Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain backend services and REST APIs for application modules and resource-status functionalities.

• Create and uphold CSV and PDF data export functionalities.

• Connect backend services with the platform’s established authentication and role-based access framework (SSO/RBAC).

• Ensure reliable data access and integrations across relational databases and data warehouse platforms.

• Design and maintain unit and integration tests to enhance application quality and reliability.

• Assist in defect resolution, hardening, and acceptance processes.

• Work collaboratively with application and technical leads to ensure alignment with API design standards and overall platform architecture.

• Engage in code reviews and adhere to established development and delivery protocols.

• Contribute to technical documentation and ticket-oriented delivery workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 6 years of professional backend development experience utilizing Node.js, Python, Java, or similar technologies.

• Extensive hands-on experience in building and deploying backend services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Solid experience in designing and implementing REST APIs.

• Familiarity with relational databases and data warehouse access patterns, including BigQuery, Cloud SQL, or similar technologies.

• Practical knowledge of automated testing, including unit and integration testing.

• Experience in integrating backend services with existing authentication and authorization models, such as SSO and RBAC.

• Proven experience working in structured engineering environments with documented designs, code reviews, and ticket-based delivery.

• Proficient in Git and collaborative software development methodologies.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar tools in daily development activities.

• Excellent communication skills in English.

• Ability to maintain a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.
